Our research is directed at understanding how the visual world is represented in the cerebral cortex. We are particularly interested in how cortical representations change when attention is shifted from one part of the scene to another. Our overall goal is to understand how inputs from higher centers contribute to making sensory representations that are adapted to the immediate needs of the viewer.
